Roger Capron was born in Vincennes in 1922. He studied at the Ecole des Arts Appliqués in Paris until 1943. He is passionate about ceramics and decides to open his own workshop in Vallauris with Robert Picault and then Jean Derval. He is one of the artists who contributed to the return of the golden age of ceramics in Vallauris. Subsequently, he opened a factory of about fifteen workers in 1952. In 1957, the workshop had about thirty people. In 1958, he directed his work towards the production of decorative tile panels. He is considered the most important industrial ceramic artist, combining know-how and mass production.
